Set up two-factor authentication

This article will guide you step by step through the process of setting up two-factor authentication with an authenticator app.

Make sure you have the latest update of the Eva Smarthus app. If you are already logged in, you must log out to set up two-factor authentication. 

You can use any authenticator app; in this example, the app Microsoft Authenticator is used.

Step 1: Select Authenticator app

1. Log in to the Eva Smarthus app with your username and password
2. You will automatically be taken to the two-factor authentication page shown: Authenticator app and Biometric login. 
3. Select Authenticator app

Step 2: Copy the code 

You do not need to use another device to create a new account in the authenticator app. You can simply copy the code instead of scanning the QR code and enter the code manually in the authenticator app.

Step 3: Open an authenticator app of your choice

1. Select the + sign to add a new account
2. Select Other
3. Select Enter code manually
4. Give the account a recognizable name and paste what you copied in Step 2 into the Secret key field
5. Select Done

Step 4: Complete the setup

1. Tap the 6 digits to copy the one-time code
2. Return to the Eva Smarthus app
3. Paste the one-time code
4. Name the authentication and tap Continue
5. Two-factor authentication is enabled; tap Continue to finish
